My High Heels Had A Good Run - Dressing For Life in Your 60s.

"These days I choose clothes that celebrate the woman I am today instead of trying to recreate the woman I was thirty years ago."

The old me. The old life. I still take parts of her into my new life.

There was a time when I rarely left the house without high heels.

In my twenties, thirties, and forties, they were practically part of my uniform. Weddings, galas, business meetings—I believed looking polished meant sacrificing comfort.

Then my feet had other ideas.

Somewhere in my fifties, they staged a quiet rebellion. These days, you'll usually find me in stylish sneakers, comfortable sandals, or wedges that let me enjoy the evening instead of counting the minutes until I can take them off.

And here's the surprising part...

I've never felt more like myself.

The new me. Stylish and comfortable with tons of confidence. I’m embracing my new body and having fun doing it.

My closet has changed because my life has changed. I reach for breezy dresses that flatter instead of fight my body, jeans with a little stretch, and linen pants that move with me instead of against me. I'll happily wear a sporty sundress with Adidas or top quality walking sandals while exploring a new city, and when it's time to dress up, I still love a beautiful dress, great accessories, and my signature hoop earrings.

Style doesn't disappear because our bodies change.

It evolves.

I've stopped dressing for the woman I used to be and started dressing for the life I'm living now.

And honestly?

I think I look better because of it.

Because the best-dressed Rebel in the room isn't the woman wearing the highest heels.

She's the one who looks confident, comfortable, and completely at home in her own skin.
